L512 + MiniDock3 => Monitor Display Resolution problem

I have a new L512 (PN: 4444CT) running Win7 Pro, and am trying to get it to work in a Mini Dock Series 3 (PN: 4337 10U).
I want the Laptop to use the full resolution of the Monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 2494LW) when installed in the Dock.
When the Laptop is NOT in the Dock I want it to revert to the Laptop screen. (Of course)
The Monitor has a 1920x1080 resolution. The Laptop only 1366x768.
I have the Monitor driver installed.
I can 'reset' the Laptop while in the Dock to display at 1920x1080.

But as soon as I restart the Laptop while in the Dock it reverts to 1366x768.
It also thinks I am trying to run dual monitors, Laptop as Number 1, SyncMaster as Number 2.
I can't seem to tell it I want only one display running at a time.

I was using my T400 (and its Dock) this same way, and it worked without a problem.

Thanks

The problem is solved!
On the keyboard, click MS + P, a graphic comes up with 4 options. Pick the one you want. In my case it was the Project Only option.
I tried for hours to solve this, then ten minutes after I posted the question, I read the clue in the Users Document.

Thanks

haha yeah! The Win+P command is something that not too many people know about, but insanely useful if you connect your computer to a monitor often. Hopefully this thread helps other people know about this! :D

Hello guys,

Can you tell me if you can use TPFanControl or any underclocking software on an L512?

Thanks!

I had used TPFanControl on my L512 before and it worked, but my lack of knowledge about it forced me to uninstall it because I didn't want to overheat/underheat the laptop or ruin the fan. So in a nutshell: yes, it works with the L512.
