as the title says realy can i change these two around is there any mods i need to do?

If it fits, you don't need to do anything.
Just remember that the sticker on the bottom shows a different MTM that belongs to the original R500.
You may need to update some drivers, but that's all.
If T500/R500 have different BIOS, don't make a mistake...

Has anyone actually gotten a definitive answer on this? I'm thinking of buying a T500 MB to put in my R500 so as to have more memory capability and CPU. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Does not fit.
That said, R500 can already take the same RAM and CPU as T500.
