#1 Post by glossywhite » Mon Aug 22, 2016 6:12 pm

Just found this driver for R500 2714-AAG, for the AuthenTec AES2810 fingerprint sensor, and it works FLAWLESSLY for "Windows Hello" fingerprint login:

Nice find! I'll try this out on my T500. From Dell's site, huh. Too bad LeNOvo can't be bothered to support anything older than 3 years....

I just got the fingerprint driver to install on my Lenovo T400 6474-P1U. It has Windows 10 x64 21H2. I used the installer lfs33250w764.exe from Lenovo. Before launching it, right-click this file --> Properties --> 'Compatibility' tab --> in the 'Compatibility mode' tab place a check in the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' and select 'Windows 7' from the drop-down. Now in the 'Settings' section place a check in the 'Run this program as an administrator' and click 'OK'

Now when you launch that 'lfs33250w764.exe' the installer will run and install as it should. The driver installed for me and I no longer have an unknown device in my Device Manager.

The driver installs correctly however I still cannot get 'Windows Hello Fingerprint' to recognize it as a compatible fingerprint scanner. It says "We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint". Am I missing something?

This indicates the driver is too old to work properly with Windows Hello. I am running into the same problem with the HP drivers for a Compaq 6730b also with this sensor.
Use that Dell driver instead, as it's meant for a Latitude E5430, which is a laptop Dell officially supported Windows 10 on and hence has official Windows 10 driver
And somehow I cannot open that link, so here's another link to the same page: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca ... tude-e5430
