Question about R500 sata speed and pci speed.

Hello everyone. I`m new here

I cant find any info about sata speeds and pcie speeds in this model. Can anyone help?

Also i have a t400 model and it seems to have much better wifi card so I was wondwring if i can change them...

R500 has SATA II (300 MB/sec) and PCIe 1.1.

You can probably swap the WiFi between the T400 and R500.

Welcome to the forum.
If the wifi card doesn't work you can try searching for a modified BIOS with the whitelist removed.

Isn`t the sata 2 limited by lenovo to 1.5 gb/s like in t400 with simillar specs? I`ve heard lenovo did it to increase compatibility with ultrabay devices... Thanks in advance.

That speed limitation was on T61 and models contemporary to it. For them a modded BIOS (Middleton's) would correct that.

T400, R500, etc.. of the Montevina chipset generation run SATA 2 at the correct speeds normally.
