How to find which chipset in my R500.

#1 Post by ThomasAJ » Mon Apr 13, 2009 9:37 pm

It is not mentioned in my online order form nor anywhere else that I can find.

Is it possible to 'look' inside the computer - I mean using software and not physically opening up the box.

Thanks

Yes, it´s possible to read some more detailed specs of the machine. CPU-Z is a free utility that would read some basics of the chipset. More detailed information, particularly regarding chipset too, can be obtained with (shareware) utilities like Everest or SiSoft Sandra. FYI, the recent ThinkPad line (including R500) uses Montevina platform.

BTW, welcome to the forum!
