Fumes from new R400

#1 Post by merlinz » Wed Jul 08, 2009 6:34 pm

I've been running a new R400 for the last week and am finding that the fumes it is blowing out not only smell a bit odd but are also causing significant eye and lung irritation.

Anyone else encountered this problem? I see some earlier correspondence about Macs doing this
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... es#p457143
but nothing about TPs doing so. The idea of the fumes containing benzene is a worry, if the earlier analysis of the Macs was correct.

eek! My new X200s did produce odor for the first few days but it went away.

I would contact Lenovo tech support immediately.
