R50e Factory Restore

Hey guys, for some reason the Rescue and Recovery had disappeared, I downloaded an installer for it and I have it back now, but I want to do Factory Restore but it gives me the error

The Product Recovery function has been removed from this system


PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!! :(

If the recovery partition is gone (and the error suggests it is no longer there), then you need recovery CD's to reload the computer (complete with needed drivers). You may be able to purchase the recovery CD's from Lenovo or purchase them here (ask in the marketplace fourm) ... JDH

do i get disks with the computer, i think i still have the box so they will probably be in there, if i have the disks can i restore that option in R&R?

If you have the disks already (that is fortunate), then there should be instructions and also the first CD should be bootable. Normally (for the ones I have done), you boot the first CD and it leads you through the recovery. Do please make absolutely certain you have backed up ALL your data before doing this.

its ok, i dont have any files on it, ive just installed my dell xp disc for now so atleast i have an OS on it, my disc drive is going now but luckly I have a usb one
