Hi everyone!

I would like to buy a thinkpad r400 to my girlfriend. I need some expert thinkpad user's opinion of this machine. My girlfriend will use to average things: word procesing, watching movies, listening musics etc. But I've read bad things about the new thinkpad keyboard (keyboard flexing). Is it real, and is this modell affected by this issue? Here are the specs and sorry for my English, if it's bad:

Processor type: Intel Core 2 Duo T6670 (800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache) 2,2 GHz
Memory: 2GB (1x2GB) max. 4GB PC3-8500 1066MHz DDR3
Harddrive: 250GB/5400rpm HDD, ThinkPad Shock Mounted Harddrive, Active Protection System
Screen: 14,1" WXGA, LED (1280x800, 185 nit, 300:1) anti-glare
Optical Drive: DVD±RW DL (fix)
Chipset: Mobile Intel GM45 Express
Video: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
Battery: 6-cell
Other stuff: UltraNav (Touch pad és TrackPoint), ExpressCard34/54, 7 in 1 Multicard Reader, Bluetooth, 3 x USB 2.0, IEEE 1394, DB-15, Intel 5100 AGN (1x2) wireless adapter 56K V90 modem, Integrated Gb ethernet (Intel 82567LM)
Operation system, software: Windows 7 Professional (32bit) +XP Prof. Recovery DVD, Lenovo Care™ Tools, Rescue and Recovery™, Access Connections™, Password Manager, System Update, PC-Doctor™, ThinkPad Utilities (Power Manager és Presentation Director), Adobe® Reader, stb.
Warranty: 1-year

Does somebody know something about this processor's performance? Is this laptop will be enough powerful to run flawlessly windows 7?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

The CPU offers plenty of performance. I didn't think the new keyboards were that bad, but you can always swap it for a T61 keyboard if you don't like it.

Thanks for your post. Do you think the 2GB of RAM will be enough for the Windows 7, or should I upgrade to 4GB?

Given the usage, I do think 2GB is enough. Since you've got a free slot, you can always upgrade later if needed.

Okay, thanks for the answer. One more question: i read horrible things about thinkpads with poor displays. Is it true? Is will be good enough the resolution (1280x800) and the 185 nit screen for average use? (mostly typing and watching movies)

The quality of the screen performance is relative.
Thinkpad's screen is suitable for office, but the entertainment does, there are gaps with Fujitsu and Mac.
