2717-5GU is max memory 4Gb or 8Gb?

Hey guys,

I went to crucial's website and the search is telling me my R500 has a maximum memory capacity of 8Gb, but when I go back to Lenovo's site it tells me a maximum of 4Gb. Which is correct? Im running XP Pro with 4Gb and I know Xp will only see 3Gb. Will W7 Pro 32-bit see all 8Gb if I max it out? Or will I need to load W7 Pro 64-bit to see all 8Gb? Either way, I have both versions.

8GB is the maximum RAM. You will need a 64bit OS to see more than 3.25GB of RAM.
