Keyboard Flex Fix

I recently purchased a new R500 from the outlet. Upon receiving it, I was sad to discover that there was a great deal of keyboard flex on the left side. Probably, just a bad piece of aluminum that was a little too thin or bent a little up so there was too much gap. So using my resourceful brain, I figured that it would be fixed by adding a thin piece of aluminum to the bottom of the keyboard under the problem area to give it a little more support. So I hacked apart a keyboard from an old broken computer, cut it to the right shape and flattened it out, and then attached it with some electrical tape. It has been working wonderfully ever since.

Just wanted to let the forum know of my success and wondering whether this would void my warranty.

I've done something similar once to my T60. And I wasn't the first with this idea. :)

I don't believe they will care if you ever have to send the machine for warranty, but your mileage may vary...
