PCMCIA to Serial setup

#1 Post by tom3k380 » Sat Dec 11, 2010 4:58 am

I got an Epson TM-88II receipt printer with a SERIAL connector to the PC. I need a PCMCIA card with SERIAL interface to be able to connect the printer's SERIAL connector to the laptop's PCMCIA card.

I got a ThinkPad R500.

Can anyone recommend a PCMCIA/SmartCard with SERIAL connection?

Here's a search from eBay - PCMCIA to Serial connector - Not sure if they will be fully compatible though.

The advanced mini-dock for the R500 has a serial port.

These can be had for less than $50 on eBay.
