Got an AC adapter for W701, no lights, no power?

#1 Post by smf » Fri Jun 26, 2020 3:13 am

Hello again friends,

I'm having a problem with my newly acquired Thinkpad W701, It needed a charger and hard drive says the Ebay ad. However, after buying the proper Ac Adapter, I've come to realize that no lights are even on! No charge, No power! I was pi$$ed. Anyway where should I start? AC port? looks, and feels fine? Idk, anyway, any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys,
SMF

Hope you have a multimeter handy. Start by checking the voltage of the charger.

Good luck smf - dealt with power issues on a 765 where it had no power lights and wouldn't turn on when plugged in. After a battery swap it is finally powering on reliably. GL. And post pictures once you get it going.
