Resolution keeps resetting

When i close the lid, or unplug my W510, the resolution always resets to the recommended setting of 1920x1080. Since this is too small for my eyes, I have to set it again. I contacted Lenovo support 2-3 months ago when i got the machine, but they have not responded. When I checked with them, they said they were working on it. Any ideas what might cause this and how to resolve?

Cheers, Graham

you could increase the DPI or try to change the resolution in the video card settings (not the default windows 7 screen resolution settings). if there is an option to delete resolutions in the video card settings you could try that too.

right click the desktop background -> personalize, in the bottom left of that window click Display, and you can increase the DPI there.

also the video card settings are all in the nvidia control panel. i remember you used to be able to add custom resolutions, not sure if you can remove the default ones though.

in Personalize, i can increase the font size to 150%. This seems like a decent workaround, although the font seems a bit tougher to read. i'll give it a try though and see how it works.

if i select "Set custom text size DPI", i have "Use Windows XP style DPI scaling" checked on. turning off didn't seem to do anything.

under Start->NVidia->3D Vision i have options to turn on/turn off 3D Vision. Am i looking in wrong spot to find nvidia control panel? looked in device manager and don't see any options there.

Still kinda peed off Lenovo has ignored me.

Thanks for your help - much appreciated.
