Hi all,
I wanted to see your thoughts and advice:
I had an issue where the screen bezel was loose on the top so I wanted to check out what could be the issue. I removed the bezel properly by removing the screw covers, then the screws, and carefully snapping off the bezel. After carefully examining the assembly, I realized there was a chip at the very edge of the plastic cover that houses the LCD screen. I know I did not cause it, and I know my screen was replaced once -- so there could be a chance that the damage was due to mishandling. After the screen was replaced once, I had it sent back again to check for another issue and when I received it back the screen bezel wasn't complete snapped on with the plastic housing.
Now the problem is I can't tell the repair depot the issue because I wasn't supposed to take off the bezel to start with and they will of course blame me for the damage. However, I know I am not at fault, and I am still under warranty. Can you guys give me ideas on what to do? Should I call and let them know about it or just let it go. Thanks
**The chip cannot be seen from the outside and can only be seen when you remove the bezel. The chip isn't substantial enough where it will interfere with normal operations.

It's better to make a claim since it IS bothering you enough to share with is here on TPF. I would leave out the details on your opening the bezel unless its discussed. Call them and tell them its loose and let it flow from there. Others might want to chime in on what they advise.thecuriousWill wrote:Hi all,

happened with my depot repair too, i made a claim and it took about 2 weeks to process. It should be serviceable under warranty.
