advice on W520 config for Autocad

Hi. I've looked through a lot of material on this but could use some advice from Cad/Autocad users. I work with Autocad, Revit and 3d Map. I do a lot of 2d map work with colors and text, 3d modeling and have large files but don't do a lot of rendering for presentation. I wanted to keep my configuration at around $1500 and I have this quote from Lenovo:

INCOI7-2760QM2.40GHZ8MB
SBB 15.6HD+ (1600 X 900) LED
NVQ1000M GR
4GBPC3-10600DDR3 1333SODMM
INT 160GB SSD SRATA

I plan to buy 16gb of 3rd party memory.

Would you say this is good or is it imperative to spend more for the NVQ2000M and/or even more a faster processor?
Thanks.

rendering is all CPU.   if you don't render then you don't need a fast processor.

the Q1000M will perform identically in CAD as the Q2000M.   they only differ in CUDA cores, and nothing you've listed can leverage CUDA anyway.

you might consider the FHD display at 1920x1080.   it will give you a lot more room to work and better color quality.   this might push you over budget but is worth saving, especially if you're working in CAD professionally.

You could also consider buying elsewhere. Buying directly through Lenovo does not always guarantee the most bang for your buck. Also make sure you get a 3 year warranty.
