Hello, i have new w520 4270CTO i7 2760qm / quadro 1000M, 8gb ram 1600mhz kingston pnp, 120gb corsair GT ssd.
All is ok, ssd get max speed (500mb/s) and computer is very fast.
But i have one problem ... when ssd write/read sometime i hear a "noise/buzzing". If use ATTO bechmark the buzzing is more audible.
With 320gb wd black the "noise/buzzing" is much lower, and you only hear in a quiet environment.
This does not create problems in performance, but it is annoying after spending all this money.
It seems a problem of sata controller, whit cpu and ram stress test i not hear any buzzing.
I have to call repair service or is normal?

Re: w520 noise/buzzing when ssd or hd read/write
You don't by any chance have the volume turned all the way up? I tend to hear all sorts of circuitry noises if I turn up the external speakers I have connected to my dock.
