How Do You Tell What Options In a w500-CTO?

Good day to you all,
I have a w500 that is a CTO model. How do I get a listing of the installed options like when you have a complete type number? I did search on “options CTO” and “CTO” (there was 361 returns just looked at a couple of pages) and could not find this information.
Thank you,
John

You need the serial number of the machine. Then, do a parts lookup:

Hi twistero,
I went to the site and it gives a general list of installed options in the w500. I would like to know what wifi card and version of bluetooth it has for example among other things. I ran cpuz and found out it is a t9900 cpu. Any recommendations to help out I would be grateful.
John

Well, after you submit the machine type and serial, you should get a list of FRUs installed in your machine. The names given there are sometimes not very descriptive, so you can try googling the FRU numbers to see exactly what they are. Alternatively, just copy and paste the entire list here and let our members take a look.

Hi JohnD. -- You can go to download.com and download Piriform Speccy (the same company that makes CCleaner.) It gives a pretty complete analysis of the hardware on your machine -- it's short and simple -- and it's free. I have it on most of my machines and it works great without any issues. It shows vendors/brands/part numbers/serial numbers -- all kinds of info.

Hi John,
here is the exact download link for
Piriform's Speccy to make it easier for you:
http://download.cnet.com/Speccy/3000-20 ... ag=mncol;6
When installing, make sure to
Un-check the Google Chrome junkware option, so you don't end up with the worst browser in all of human history LOL
Click through the various options and it will give you more details about your Network card, Audio, DVD Burner, Webcam, ATI FireGL V5700, System Board, CPU (CPU-Z is even better for that), and OS.
Have a good day,
Daniel.
