W520: adjust power settings for ultrabay HDD?

I've replaced the optical drive in my W520 with an HDD, and I'm wondering if it's possible to adjust power management settings for this particular drive? I'm using the HDD pretty much exclusively as a data/backup drive, and would like it to spin down when idle; I see the "turn off hard disk after..." option in the Windows advanced power settings-- is this the only way to make this adjustment? i.e. via a global hard drive setting and not specific to the actual HDD in the ultrabay?
