I have a Lenovo W510 with Windows XP 32 bit and 4 GB RAM (so only about 3GB used).
I am planning to install 4x4GB of RAM and upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit (on a new hard drive). However, the new hard drive is not coming for a few days after the RAM. Is it OK to upgrade to 16GB RAM while still running Windows XP 32 bit? I know I won't be able to use any more than about 3GB, but I just want to confirm things will still work.

Re: W510 Memory Upgrades
You should be fine. And if for some reason it doesn't work, just swap the old RAM back in.
