Power off display does not work (Fn + F3)

#1 Post by ChrK » Sat Oct 13, 2012 11:38 am

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with the switchable graphic card and also with the Power off display function.
Both functions don’t work.
I have all the newest driver and Bios.
There is always this message “System cannot enable Energy Saving Graphic”.
When I push Fn + F3 (Power off display), the display powers off for some seconds, but then turns on again.
One more doubt about the windows update: Should I install in optional updates from windows 7 “Thinkpad Display 1280 x 800”?

Some information on the Thinkpad:
W500 T9400, win 7 Ultimate SP1.
Thanks for any help,

Chris

I've just noticed that the "Power-off display" - funktion works fine, I just was moving the mouse...
But the big problem is still the Switchable Graphic-function, which still doesn't work...

Now it works!!!!
Don't know if the reason was that I removed "Silverlight" (don't think so),
or, more probably reinstall of display driver (switched off the automatic windows driver update)
and installed the switchable driver software manually, though it wasn't the latest version, as I saw later, it works!

good luck to resolve this problem.
