Hello again guys!

2 weeks ago my w520 started to say on my operating system "Battery (not present)" on linux, and something like battery not recognized or something like that on windows.

This happened from one second to another, my batter was working without any problems until that moment.

Any ideas if this could be a battery issue or something else? I don't to buy a battery to discover that the battery wasn't the problem.

Thanks!

The symptoms are most often caused by a bad battery. Sudden motherboard charging failure is less likely

I have a X61 with a non-genuine battery which does the exact same thing about 50% of the time. Couple things that worked for me: 1) take the battery out for about 1 min, reinsert and sometimes it recognize the battery and works as normal. 2) With battery plugged in, plug in the power adapter. After about 10 min the system will recognize the battery again.

My spare battery is a genuine Lenovo battery. I never have a problem with the genuine version.
