ibm thinkpad w701ds

I have replaced the lcd and lcd cable with OEM from IBM and now the unit will not boot.
If i unplug the cable, and thus the screen, then plug an external monitor in the dvi slot the unit boots all the way to windows.

Is there a sleep switch or another item of install i have overlooked?

I have not completely reassembled the unit after install.

Welcome to the forum. Let's start by moving this to the "W" ThinkPad Conference and maybe somebody and weigh in there.

Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(
