Is there a way to update recovery disk information?
Is there a way to update recovery disk information?
Is there a way to rebuild the information on the Lenovo recovery disks I received from Lenovo to include SP1 for Windows 7 so that, in the future, I will not have to deal with the problem I had described in the previous post noted below when I have to rebuild my W700ds someday?

Re: Is there a way to update recovery disk information?
There may be a way, but I couldn't find it. I spent more time than I would like to admit trying to do that in order to get SP1 into a set so I could install onto an advanced format drive. I have the tools to break apart ISOs and to build a winPE environment, and I was unable to get it to work.

Re: Is there a way to update recovery disk information?
is easy to update,
first, run recovery cd proces, on first restart turn off computer and plug main disk to another system. In this moment you can switch all drivers, software etc. I allways do it wit w500. With recovery system install best drivers and software. at this level you can swich sata driver to turn on capability with 4k sector. After instalation, you have updated recovery image - its all
this work only from true recovery disk. I have them for w500 and x120e
cheers
EDIT:
after this i newe make any update drivers and lenovo software. If system works correctly don't see any reason to update. Start is very fast, system i virgin clean

Re: Is there a way to update recovery disk information?
Since the OS and the applications/drivers factory recovery discs for Windows 7 era machines are separate (at least all of the ones I have are), you can just use the Windows 7 with SP1 OS recovery set to start, then use the regular applications/drivers disk(s) for the rest like usual.
