w500 wont boot

hi guys i bought a w500 to to use on my t500 for a complete screen change over but it wont boot turns on then off off again cpu is fine any ideas ?

The display only? Or the entire W500? If the latter, first thing I would check for is a damaged USB port.

yeah i meant to ad that there is no external output to ,the bar that supports the 4 pins is gone but the 4 are straight and dont appear to be shorting

If it powers on, but the display remains black, then try removing the CMOS battery for 15 minutes. You'll have to remove the palmrest and the keyboard to get at it. This will reset any BIOS settings that may be causing a problem. It will also set the laptop to boot on the Intel graphics instead of the ATI chip, in case there's a problem with that.

Does any beep sequence occur at all?
