ultrabay adapter for w510

does anyone know the right fru ? I read on the forum there the code is different from that of t400 or t500 ..
otherwise the w510 can boot from esata? there is an esata adapter on which I can connect directly to a disc without having to provide power?

Normal eSata: no
eSata/USB hybrid (EUHP), also called eSataP; yes.
If the W510 has the same port as the W520; all you need is the right cable and you can connect and use a bare disc directly. The catch is; only 2.5" discs, as the 3.5" discs use 12V and the eSataP port on the Thinkpads does not provide 12V. That can only be found on desktops.

I bought an original ultrabay adapter for w510, but I read on the forums that the w510 only supports SATA 1 only over ultrabay.. is that true? so the ssd over ultrabay will go at sata 1 speed?

i answer to myself: ultrabay has the same speed of internal sata, an ssd goes at 270 MB /s.
