Hi I was curious to see what temps do users on here have? What did you do to achieve those temps.

It's all in this thread, there is no need to make another thread.

Hi I read that but really doesn't explain a lot on how some achieved those temperatures.

I mean like the type of thermal paste used and what brands of fans were used in each test. What percent of power was using in the Processor power management. If any programs were used to disable cores on the cpu rather than just the bios options.

I redid the paste on my Thinkpad using Arctic Silver 5 and I have got great results :) This time I was able to us all cores and with Hyper Threading :) I will keep posted of what I get after the break end period.

Yes AS 5 is the what did it for me also on W520. I'll even say more, thermal paste we have in Russia appears to be in its majority counterfeit Chinese crap. I ordered my AS 5 from USA, on amazon, and loving it, it really does its job.

First, that 3D games thread has a lot of useful information indeed.

I got my W510 and it's in nearly mint condition. The CPU temp is high 40s at boot, but soon goes to 50-51 at idle. I stay under 60 unless I do heavy load. Because of this I will not rush to apply Arctic Silver. This CPU is 4 core 8 thread and runs cooler that the wife's T400 which is dual core and only a generation behind
