W520 Touch Screen?

#1 Post by Magyarman » Fri May 09, 2014 10:53 am

I am sorry if this question has been asked in the past, but here I go. I have a 1600x900 standard screen for a W520. Does IBM/aftermarket have a full HD 1080p touchscreen (wishing) or 1080p (ok) screen that is plug and play for my unit? It is out of warranty, so not worried about that, but just worried about it working properly. If there is a touchscreen in 1600x900 would be interested also (windows 8.1 is NOT on my machine yet, but might be forced knowing Microsoft).

Thanks,
Andras

Welcome to the forum!

If you swap the entire lid from a W510 touch it will work. They are available in FHD resolution. I have heard that touch was available for the W520 though never saw one.

The top cover is deeper to fit the touch LCD. The motherboard connector is the same.
