I have a W520 ,64bit,windows 7 with a 500GB HDD.I cloned a 1TB HDD with Apricorn EZ-Upgade.It said the clone was sucessful.I put the TB HDD in my W520 ,the thinkvantage screen comes on like normal,than a black screen that says >>>>Can't find operating system.

I have done this with 90GB,320GB,and 500GB before with no problem.

The TB HDD is new,a Travelstar

I haven't used that big a laptop drive before so I have no experience to share.

If it were me I would try a different cloning program.

Another option I would try is to make a backup image and restore that image on your new drive.

I know you said you have done this before so it sounds like the procedure should work. Another thing I would try is to install the new drive in the W520 and clone. From your description you cloned the new drive outside the W520 and then installed it.

The drive letters on the cloned one are G,Q,H,.Just wonder if i change that C,Q,H, before i clone.
Is there a good free clone software?
