I have a Lenovo ThinkPad WS520 with a 300 MB Western Digital WD3200BEKT hard disk. A week ago the disk crashed ceasing the platters and making the data inaccessible. As a replacement disk I would like to install a SAMSUNG 850 EVO MZ-75E120B/AM 2.5" 120GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal Solid State Drive (SSD). Is this possible? Are the connectors in the SSD Samsung compatible with those installed in the ThinkPad for the WD hard disk? Are there any changes in the BIOS that are required by the new storage device? Thank you for your help on the matter.

I'd expect it to be a direct swap.

It is a direct swap and you will only need to reinstall the OS. The connectors and size are the same on the new drive as the old one.
