Troubleshoot Bluetooth...

Hi,
I'm trying to use a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse (Bluetooth). Can you help me figure out why my W500 4061-W8K does not see it? Running Win7. I am using the latest driver. Is there a chance the Bluetooth card is dead? How can I confirm this?
I tried also with an Insignia Bluetooth USB dongle and using that the computer only sees the mouse sometimes but always fails to add the device. And I've tried the dongle in all USB ports with no success.
It may also be that this is a very unreliable Bluetooth mouse.
Any help, advice is appreciated.
