Does the W500 keyboard still flex?

I was planning to buy one, but the store that sells it is quite far away. I want to know if it is worth considering getting the W500 before I make the trip to see it.

And if it does flex, it there an alternate replacement keyboard on eBay that doesn't flex (model number/part number/link please)?

W500 is still a relevant machine nowadays.

You can always install a keyboard from R60/61 or T60/61 that won't flex. There are way too many FRU numbers involved for me to list them.

If your "new" keyboard flexes, just purchase one that doesn't have the "swiss cheese" holes in the back and you're golden...

Mine do. The keyboard is still among the best. The swiss-cheese holes are a desperate attempt to save weight.

Since the FRU numbers are so numerous, I think a T60/61 keyboard fits, but doesn't have the holes. Someone, verify this.

Verified. This.

Any keyboard from:

R60/e/i, R61/e/i

T60/p, T61/p

Z6* of any kind

will work and they don't have the holes in the back.
