W500 - Can't get ATI Firegl V5700 to work on Thinkpad LCD

Hello,
I decided to revive my old W500 and give it to my friend. I have reinstalled the Vista Business it originally had... but I have a strange problem with the discrete ATI FireGL V5700 card.
When I switch to "discrete graphics" and "OS detection: disabled"in BIOS and install the driver from Lenovo site (7vd541ww.exe), my W500 reboots and loads the system. Everything is OK, until the moment when Windows logo should be displayed. Instead, the screen goes dark. The system boots fine and when I connect my TV via Display Port <>HDMI, I can see the picture. The display card is OK, I have installed some 3D games and they all run without a problem.
The problem is, how to get the ATI V5700 to work with Thinkpad LCD?
