Yet another W510 Bluetooth ?
Yet another W510 Bluetooth ?
Greetings All Experts;
I've done about every known solution to the "No Bluetooth Device Found". I have 4391-CP5 Win7 Pro x64. Can't find a data sheet anywhere. Updated BIOS to 1.45. No Fn+F5 setting for Bluetooth, no "Bluetooth Support" in Local Services, and no I/O port setting in the BIOS. Could it be there is no card in this system and if not can one be installed ? Any help appreciated. Thanks to all in advance for reading this.
Sincerely,
Donald

Check your device manager under network adapters. If you have bluetooth in your system, it will still show up in device manager with an ! saying no drivers installed.

Thanks Hans;
Forgot to mention, not there either or as a separate entry near the top.

Re: Yet another W510 Bluetooth ?
Does the W510 have a bluetooth icon light on the front besal? That should tell you if the W510 came with bluetooth.
Woops, *10 series ommited the bluetooth icon light on at least the 410 series.

Re: Yet another W510 Bluetooth ?
According to the specs, your W510 does NOT have BlueTooth:
W510 (i7-720QM):
(1.6GHz), 2GB RAM, 160GB 7200rpm HD, 15.6in 1920x1080 LCD, 1GB nVIDIA Quadro FX 880M, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN option, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure Chip, Fingerprint reader, Camera, 9c Li-Ion, WinXP Pro
You can remove the palmrest and insert a BT-module there.
For instructions, get t he HMM here: http://www.thinkpads.com/support/hmm/hm ... 536_05.pdf
You might have (or be missing) a BT-control-LED between wifi and HD LEDS at the bottom of your screen.

Thanks RBS. Sort a thought it did not have one. I have the HMM and will check that. This one has no camera either. I'm assuming it's BT 2.1 with EDR ? Where did you find the spec sheet ?
