W520 – correct palmrest FRU?

Looking for a new palmrest...

According to https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/pd009237 my palmrest with FPR without Smart Card without Color Sensor should be... FRU 04W1369.

But according to https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup after typing in my S/N it looks my palmrest should be FRU 04X3739.


Could someone tell me what is the difference between the two FRUs? I can only tell that 04W1369 is more expensive...

Maybe the 04X3739 one has an FPR on it. If yours isn't bust, maybe pick the cheaper one and move it over?

Lenovo is notorious for having several FRUs for the same part. I'm fairly certain that you'll be fine with either/or.

OK, the more expensive one is unavailable for order.


These FRU numbers are a mess. There are 3 different FRUs for 9 cell battery. Fine, I get it, it is probably made by three different suppliers. One is unavailable, second is available and the third one is more than THREE TIMES more expensive than the second one*


(* According to some IBM parts website that I have found.)
