W520 Maximum HDD Height, Speeds? (Dedicated and Ultrabay)?

#1 Post by Carthik » Fri Aug 21, 2015 2:01 pm

What is the maximum HDD height for the dedicated HDD slot. Also, via the OEM or aftermarket Ultrabay adapter (if aftermarket supports higher height)?

Which of these slots support Sata III?

Cheers,

Both support SATA3, 9.5mm.

in some rare cases you may find the dedicated with ruber thingies that support only 7mm, and in that case you can just buy new ones, fairly cheap on ebay.

I seem to recall that the ultrabay (if you get the right one) will support a 12mm drive on a T420,
so you might want to check to see if this is true for the T/W520.

No guarantees, this is just from analog brain tissue memory.
