I apologize if this has been beaten to death, but I can't seem to find the right thread.
I have a W520 A96 w/ 17 2720qm, 4 gigs mem 160 gig hitatchi hddw/ NVIDIA 1000 gpu w/ 2gb running win 7 pro 32.
The system is running bios ver 1.27
I have installed 32gb 12800 1600 mem and a samsung 850 evo 240 gig msata drive in the wwan slot. I'd like to keep or upgrade the main hdd for storage, but that is not essential. I also have a good copy of Win 7 64, which I believe I need to access the extra memory.
Could someone please step me through this, or point me to a good thread?
Much appreciated,
Mike

It looks like I whined a little too quickly. Most of this turned out easier than I thought, but one question still lingers. I don't have the factory partition anymore, and therefore the good lenovo stuff, like power manager, so I'm headed over there to download some utilities, but which ones do I really need? Any thoughts?

Thank you, Hans. I'm trying this now. I needed to install MS .net 4.0 framework. I'll let you you how it works out.

I like only the power manager. Access connections used to be fine but I don't use/need anymore.
Those are the two, old-school classic utilities.
Some of the lenovo ones like solution centre is outright annoying.
