Is my W500 too hot?

how warm is a W500 normally? I picked up my W500 off ebay last week.
The model type is 4063-E93 however oddly enough it seems someone upgraded the screen from 1680x1050 to 1920x1200.
I don't have a hard drive caddy for it yet. On the hotness scale it's warmer than my T60 with a ATI radeon x1300 by a large margin.
It's not burning hot but it's enough to raise attention.
Specs
Core 2 duo t9600 2.8 Ghz
6 GB DDR3 ram (upgraded from the 2 GB that it came with )
ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 512 MB
screen is 1920x1200
Any insight on this? how hard is it to reapply thermal paste in a w500? I ordered some arctic silver to put on it in the meantime.

I never recall my T60 with X1300 running hot, in fact I rarely saw it hit 60C at full load.

How it is it actually running? The W500's GPU is quite a bit more powerful than an X1300 and will use correspondingly more power, and also have a higher TDP. So will the T9600, even comparing to using the T7600 in a T60.

It might just be the ATI video card getting warm in integrated graphics it's cooler

Remove the handrest, keyboard, bezel and a few metal brackets under the keyboard to get to the fan.
Hold the fan with one hand and with the other hand use something that blows pressurised air to get all the dust out.

I just did this last week and average temps dropped 15-20°C. It wasn't even that much of a layer of dust inside.
Don't attempt to blow from the outside or you'll just get dust in. Don't use a vacuum because you could damage the fan.
The half hour of work is worth it.
