W700 W701 Screen Specs

#1 Post by taichi » Thu Jan 19, 2017 12:33 pm

Would anybody with a W700-701...particularly withe a Quadro 3700M.... know whether the 17 inch LCD panel used is 6 bit or 8 bit? A Datasheet on the screen would be very helpful as well.

Thanks!

All of these screens were 6-bit.

As for the specs/datasheets, find the models that you're interested in towards the bottom of this list:

and then off to the search engine of your choice...

A word of friendly warning: given that you're coming from a 15" T60p, you're quite likely to be disappointed with the panels found in the W70* range.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info.

Although I've always been curious about the W700, my question is part of a quest to solve an MXM upgrade issue with the 3700M in a non IBM laptop.

I like my T60P very much, but I confess interest in the mobo upgrade spoken of in this forum. But it wuld only make sense for me if it had a modern, discrete GPU.
