The W510 I am using, is oscillating between 920Mhz and 1.6Ghz on all four cores.

Set up is 135W adapter, Maximum Performance power manager profile. Latest drivers.

Any assistance to get turbo boost working would be much appreciated.

Do you realize all W series of this vintage from Wx10 to Wx30 needs 170W adapters? Try this.

Cheers, thinkpadcollection

Wrong. The W510 ships with a 135W adapter. The W520/W530 ship with a 170W adapter.

It could be throttling because of a temperature problem. What temps are the CPU (and possibly also GPU) running?
Also, there may be an option in the BIOS to disable turbo boost.

I don't believe temps or throttling is an issue - CPU is Mid 50C, GPU is 50C with browser, Excel and a few other small apps open.

The W510 also doesn't have a turbo boost option in the BIOS.

Seems to be fixed with a BIOS flash to version 1.38.

Turbo boosting now at 1729 Mhz on all 4 cores.
