W700 regular BSODs.

#1 Post by Thinkpad4by3 » Sat Jul 22, 2017 8:04 pm

My W700 gets BSODs on a regular basis. Usually occurs every 4-5 hours.

Specs:
Q9000 C2Q
nVIDIA Quadro 3700M
WUXGA Awesome LCD.
4GB RAM
W7 Ultimate

Is this the nVIDIA can't make reliable parts to save their soul problem like the T61p had or something totally different?

If you want it you're going to bleed, but that is the price to pay
And you're a very rare mobo, very hard to get
You can see the blinky lights, but you won't get them for free.

Do you get a screen blankout shortly before a BSOD? I had BSOD issues with my ThinkPad W701 but I found it was due to an issue with Firefox (does it happen with web browsing or similar?) and disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox stopped the blankouts/BSODing

I use chrome on that machine.

It happens when going into suspend or when the machine get significantly slower and then it BSODs.

Try a PaleMoon and Firemin combo, they use minimal RAM.
