W520 - new CMOS battery / sluggish sometimes

#1 Post by PeterNC » Thu Oct 18, 2018 11:46 am

After I replaced my W520's CMOS battery it now occasionally becomes very sluggish. I checked the temperature but that is not the issue. Any thoughts?

Did you try resetting the BIOS' settings to its factory defaults, right after you installed the new CMOS battery in? See if that works.

Are you sure that when you replaced the CMOS battery you didn't knock something when you opened it.
Also, are you PeterNC from VCFED?

Let me try resetting the issues. Nope: did not knock anything.

Yep: same person! :)

Update: seems to work a lot better now after resetting the BIOS. Had to unplug the battery and power before being able to access the BIOS.
