I know that lenovo W500 configuration is still quite unstable but wondering has anyone order from Lenovo or from other site yet?

If not from Lenovo site, where did you buy from?

What's the estimated shipping date?

I ordered from Lenovo's site. Estimated ship is 8/26. Kinda needed one for college, or I would've waited.

I would have preferred to wait awhile, but my T40 decided to die instead.

Ordered Three systems today from Lenovo

Yep,

got it from lenovo.com the first couple of hours that the website was up and running with the W500 being offered. Was actually going to buy a T61p as did not know about W500, but since it was not available got the W500.

The specs are as follows:

9600 2.8Ghz Core 2 Duo Processor
Vista Bus 64 bit
4 GB RAM
200 GB 7200 Drive
WUXGA+
Intel 5300 Wireless Card
9 Cell Battery
3year Onsite Service

Seems to have been a webpage error on the processors (note that they aren't offering the 9600 at the time of this writing), but they've indicated that they are going to be honoring the pricing which was given at the time of the order.

Not a bad deal at all, $2,200 for all of the above. Currently the ship date is 8/25, but we'll see if that actually works out, as I've not seen anyone else actually have an earlier date or an indication of an earlier date.

Should be a good machine to handle some SQL Server development and Visual Studio, we'll see......

With respect to the above, just got an email this morning 8/12 that it has shipped, which is almost two weeks prior to the estimated date. To recap, order on 8/5, ship on 8/12, not too bad....

It'll have the T9600, I confirmed this yesterday with Lenovo. The agent did indicate that she was going to send an expedite request to the warehouse, don't know if this was bluff or what, but it ssems to have worked....

Just got a little more information from Lenovo, turns out that they broke the shipment into pieces and have shipped the port replicator but not the actual machine itself.

Sorry about the previous information, will advise when I know more.
