these days -- do I have any hopes of getting a
discount / coupon / sale anytime soon?

I checked, and it DOES work for the W500. You can also look for some Paypal coupons, and stack the two for an insane overall discount.

Unfortunately, it does not work for the W700. I kind of figured that!

And I second your request. I'm also looking for some eCoupons, or links, for the Lenovo site. I think I'm ready to buy. The W700 has some sick specs.
