Questions on new W500

Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted for ages since I was stuck using a work supplied DULL 1710. (Good performance - HUGE).

So I bit the bullet and bought a new W500 4062-27U - it was a great ebay deal :)

I have blown away the stuff as shipped and installed a new copy of Vista Ultimate x64. Lots of trials and tribulations here, not realizing that Lenovo had shipped the machine with almost every port/option switched off. ie. no network cards, parallel port, single cpu etc.

Its now running quite nicely with a Vista Score of: 5.1 overall (note that this was 4.6 prior to me replacing the lenovo default 2G module with 2xG.Skill 2gig modules). The main thing thats letting it down is the HDD which rates at 5.1. I have a new Hitachi 300g 7200 drive to replace it with, but I want to keep this drive with Vista and the new drive will be Ubuntu 8.10.

Does anyone have a link as to where to purchase the drive cage and rubber rails for the W500 please?

Secondly, this machine comes WWAN ready, where would I go to find the compatible WWAN mini PCI cards please?

Finally, if anyone can tell me where to find good prices on 4Gig PC3-8500 modules I'd be grateful ;D

Thank You,

Gregory Harris

When you browse our forum, just look up  at the Hard Drive Caddys (the third big banner under the forum name from left to right) :)

Unfortunately, there is no way to put 8gb of RAM in a W500 for less than about $1050-1100.
