Hi All, we learned yesterday about a new Photographic competition 'Name Your Dream Assignment'

It is sponsored by Lenovo and Microsoft with as you can see from the post title, a fantastic prize. You don't have to be a Pro and you don't need a Portfolio, but you can win a ThinkPad W700 and $50,000 to make your Dream Photo Assignment come true.

Assuming this is not spam, shouldn't this be in the general Thinkpad forum for better exposure.

Spam? Its a notification to members of this forum that there is a competition to win a ThinkPad W700 plus $50,000! We have posted the details on our blog at ThinkpadToday. There is no financial gain in it for us other than a bit of traffic! We are not running the comp, but we wanted to let as many ThinkPad W700 devotees know about it as we could.

I registered for the competition (although I have to admit I don´t have much to do with photography except maybe for some microscope images...) but I haven´t received any confirmation or even an advertisement e-mail yet... Is that normal or should I register again? Thanks,

Hi Martin, I believe the competition starts in March so I believe they will be sending out stuff then. Keep us informed. Anybody else registered?

Update: I received today the first "welcome" e-mail telling me just by the way:

(Oh, and one more thing: the contest is only open to U.S. residents at this time, due to legal hurdles overseas. But we welcome our friends abroad to vote, comment and participate in discussions throughout the competition).
