I don't think posting prices is within the rules - but you may want to check out www.memory-up.com

Re: W500 memory source?
I just got my 2 x 4GB (at a much bette price than you posted) this last week. It makes a world of difference on my machine (mostly doing SQL Server 64/Visual Studio Work). I would suggest CDW for this, twist their arm a bit, they'll give you a better price than what is posted on the website.
I will say that this memory is hard to find, lot of guys say they have it, but they really don't. CDW said this as well, but as soon as they got it, I knew about it. They kept me very up to date on this.

Either one should be fine. Both are excellent brands. Both occasionally have defects like all electronics - but one is no better than the other.

Crucial is the company I have always used and they have never failed having what I needed in stock and ready to deliver the next day. I have purchased from the at least 10 times.

Re: W500 memory source?
I believe you need 204-pin memory. 240-pin is rather for desktops...
