Hi all,
I've just installed Vista Business x64 on my w500 and now I'm having problems with the fan is always on at full speed.
I've installed all the drivers and patches from Lenovo website and updated the laptop thru Windows Update, but no luck.
What can I do to make the fan run when needed?
Take a look at our

Welcome to the forum!
Was the fan on all the time with previous OS that you had on the machine?

Re: w500 - Fan always on
Thanks!
Nope, it all started when I first install Vista 64. Bought a copy of Windows 2008 Server and installed it, but the same thing happens.

Re: w500 - Fan always on
Are you saying the fan is running at full speed all the time?
I know when ever you install a new OS or even first start a new computer, mine do alot of disk activity for indexing. This can last the good part of a full day depending on how much you work and interupt it.
BUT, if you fan is running full blast, you go something wrong
