Hi,

Has anyone experienced a considerable/noticeable improvement/speed in using Intel Turbo Memory in W500? Benifits of having Turbo Memory?

Also is there a significant difference between 2.8 GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo T9600, 1066MHz 6MBL2) processor and 2.53 GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo T9400, 1066MHz 6MBL2) processor?

Thank you!

Fernando

Had the 4Gb turbo memory under under Vista 32bit (SP1). There was only a slight improvement in performance.

This Turbo memory is (2Gb) in addition to the main memory (DDR3 SDRAM) 3Gb or 4Gb. OS is 32 bit Vista. I wonder whether having this additional Turbo memmory can influence a noticeable improvement?

Turbo memory isn't really an additional (extra) memory to your system, it's more of a cache memory than anything. It's a micro memory card that Lenovo installs into your computer that is separate from your actual system rememory and is used for the speedboast process in Vista.

I have 2GB in my W500, and 4GB of physical memory but both are different and separate from one another.

I would say if you have 4GB of memory in your notebook that you install Vista Business x64 SP2, I noticed a performance gain in my machine over not using the turbo memory.
