Purchased a W500 from outlet, a question.

There were two redistributed W500s on the outlet yesterday. Both identically configured & priced.

I bought one of them, its "brother" system is still up. http://outlet.lenovo.com/laptops/406l3aev9w.html

I checked the warranty info so I could see the parts lookup and find out what screen it has.

Assuming these systems are identical, I may have lost the LCD lottery, as it has a Samsung screen. My T60 and T61p were both LG screens...I've heard horror stories, but never saw the Samsung in person.

Now, online in the Outlet, it shows 1 year warranty, But, one thing I did notice is that it says the following when I do the warranty lookup:

Status: Expiration date: Location:
In warranty 2012-05-23 UNITED STATES

Warranty service upgrades & maintenance services Warranty service upgrades and maintenance services

Description:
This product has a special bid three year limited warranty. This product is entitled to parts, labor and on-site repair service (9x5 next business day) in approved locations. Thinkpad batteries have a one year warranty.

Will this warranty carry over when I get it, or will they knock it down to a 1 year warranty? I was planning on buying a 3 year warranty on it (probably accidental), but if it keeps its warranty, I may just stick with it, as the 3 year NBD on-site is the warranty I've used on the T41p, T42p, T43, & T60 I bought prior to the T61p.

I believe all Outlet machines are sold with one year warranties. Perhaps the original buyer had three years and it's not been updated in the system yet.
