Some problems with new W500

#1 Post by ebp » Thu Aug 06, 2009 3:45 am

Hi

I have had my w500 for about a month now and have noticed some problems. First off some times when I start up my computer and press fn + f5, the mobile broadband doesn't always show up. This doesn't happen alot but once in a while. Also some times when i start it up the wireless radio it's turned off or sometimes i shuts off in the middle of web surfing or other activities. This isn't a daily occurrence but happed about once a week. Am I the only one having this problem or is this normal?

I also have a question about the screen hinges, it seem like there's a rod through all the way on the left side and not on the right is this the way it's supposed to be? I have included some pictures:

Set power management to high performance in device manager for the WiFi adapter. You do not want to allow the OS to disable the adapter to save power. There is another setting in power manager related to this as well... disable that one too. The hinges are fine.

Good to hear it's just some settings, i have changed them but it will probably take some time before i know it really has helped. One more thing i have noticed that then i watch video files i often get framerate drops. I'm the cccp codecs. I have included a screencapture that shows it:
